MacCTC

MacCTC is a PGP replacement application developed by Ian Miller using CTClib developed by Ian Miller and Mr. Tines. Whereas I consist 2.1 to be a full release there is still a beta-test page for latest news and feedback. It is released for PowerPC and separately for 68k. (The 68k variant requires 68020 or better.) There is not currently a FAT variant.

MacCTC is a simple text editor that will perform encryption and decryption operations. It has a AppleEvent interface to Eudora (-Lite or -Pro) to allow the direct sending and receiving of e-mail at minimum effort. It is commerically usable freeware.

Source for the underlying encryption library CTClib is also available. The application source code for MacCTC is now available. Offers of help especially foreign language translations, would be much appreciated.

Release 2.1

The main change in the user interface in the introduction of new key management windows. There have also been a number of bug fixs. See the release notes for details. Also see the known bugs list and wish list.

Where to get it

There is a manual.
The following 2.1 archives are currently available for download:-

If you want the full source for MacCTC, you need CTClib and the MacCTC source kit and the ThinkC Class Library. The latter must be purchased from Symantec Corporation before an application build can be done. There are also some instructions on building this application from source.

Although a bit out of date the original specification is available.
